Objective To analyze the epidemic characteristics of hand-foot-mouth disease in Luoyang after EV71 vaccine came into the market, and to evaluate the effect of EV71 vaccine. Methods To enquire and verify vaccination information for clinically reported patients of hand-foot-mouth disease, and to carry on epidemiological investigation of those still suffering from vaccination. Results A total of 5 926 cases of hand-foot-mouth disease were reported in Luoyang in 2018, 510 Cases were remained after vaccination, That's 8.61 % of all cases. There were no statistically significant differences in region, age, sex and severity of the patients after vaccination. Among the 64 laboratory-diagnosed cases after vaccination, EV71 infection accounted for 7.81 %.The vaccine originated from three manufacturers,and EV71 hand-foot-mouth disease after inoculation was found to have a Mild clinical presentation, with no serious cases. Conclusions There was no significant change in the epidemic characteristics of hand-foot-mouth disease after EV71 vaccine. Further promote application and effect evaluation is needed.
